Corteaura

corteaura

Corteaura started in 2009, when Federico Fossati decided to leave his accounting firm in Veneto to realize his dream and produce wines with strong territorial roots. This led him to Franciacorta, in Adro, an incredible location well known for vine cultivation since the 13th century for high-quality sparkling. He partnered with Pierangelo Bonomi – an experienced oenologist involved in the production of quality sparkling wines. Their passion for the production of Franciacorte DOCG aims for consistency in the highest quality production and their turtle logo symbolizes the identity of the territory and slow process. Enhancing its different expressions, create Franciacorta wines that are complex in body and structure, yet easy to drink. Corteaura is located in Adro, at the base of Monte Alto, 271 meters above the sea. Corteaura is located in the heart of Franciacorta, a wine-growing region of Lombardia, between Brescia and the southern limit of Lago d’Iseo.

Brut DOCG

Grape Variety: 90% Chardonnay 10% Pinot Nero

Tasting Notes: Straw-yellow color and fine, persistent perlage. Sweet aromas of pastry with a slightly fruity and vanilla taste. Great after a meal with dry pastry or cakes made with fruit, ideal for stuffed cakes made with sponge, creams, homemade cakes, sweetened cream and tarte tatin. It also goes well with Christmas cakes like pandoro or panettone. The Franciacorta medium dry is ideal with aperitifs or snacks accompanied by slightly spicy cheese or appetizers.

Saten DOCG

Grape Variety: 100% Chardonnay

Tasting Notes: Straw yellow color and fine perlage. Delicately floral. The taste is soft and delicately creamy, nuanced but distinct scent of ripe fruit, accompanied by subtle notes of white flowers and nuts, possibly even roasted (almonds and hazelnuts). The wine’s pleasant flavor, freshness and softness are reminiscent of delicate silk. Great with aperitifs and throughout the meal. It will perfectly go with main and second courses based on fish and vegetables, raw fish, fried fish and vegetables, mixed cold pork meats, white meat, and ripe cheese.

Rose DOCG

Grape Variety: 75% Pinot Nero 25% Chardonnay

Tasting Notes: Light pink in color. Elegant bouquet with the notes of blackberry and raspberry typical of Pinot Noir. Soft and juicy flavor, accompanied by balanced acidity. Great for aperitif and throughout the meal, it perfectly goes with seafood, raw fish, light red meat, mixed cold pork meats, main courses, or second courses with tomato sauce. It’s great also with pizza, like margherita, ripe cheese.

Inse DOCG

Grape Variety: 65% Chardonnay 35% Pinot Nero

Tasting Notes: A Franciacorta that develops “insé” (“in sé” meanings “by itself” in Italian): nothing is added to its integrity and authenticity typical of a pas dosé. In the glass, it shows a unique complexity with distinct aromas: the sweetness of honey, the freshness of thyme and aromatic herbs, the elegance of delicate hints of vanilla and toast. On the palate, it shows the integrity without compromise of a pas dosé combined with the balance of a great Franciacorta: structure and finesse. The ideal pairing is with shellfish or salt – or fresh-water fish. It also pairs well with traditional charcuterie or soft cheese, savory and rich.
