Belisario

belisario

Cantine Belisario was established in 1971 and owns the most vines in the Matelica region- 300 hectares of which 24 hectares are certified organic. The climate in Matelica is more continental and the combination of warm days and cool nights gives a longer growing season and lovely aromatic qualities to the wines. Vineyards to the south enjoy a Mediterranean climate and are more strongly impacted by the Adriatic Sea, including the cooling fog that's a regular presence in these sites. Only 3 percent of Marche's surface area is flat, so hillside vineyards are a given, and calcareous, clay, and/or limestone soils dominate, depending on the appellation.

Vigneti ‘B’
Verdicchio di Matelica DOC Organic

Grape Variety: 100% Verdicchio

Tasting Notes: On the nose, it shows interesting aromas of apple, golden apple, pink grapefruit, and wax, with typical aromas. On the palate, it is soft and round, with unique citrus freshness. This Verdicchio has an extraordinary ability to age.

Rosso Conero DOC

Grape Variety: 100% Montepulciano

Tasting Notes: The wine opens with earthy aromas of tilled soil along with notes of cherries, black fruit, and espresso. The palate delivers bright red cherries, notes of mocha, and a good tannic structure, making the wine very pleasant and enjoyable to drink.
